What is hypnosis?
People have all sorts of strange and exciting notions about hypnosis.
It feels like daydreaming. Actually it is a state of relaxation and concentration, combined with a heightened awareness.
Hypnosis is arrived at through a cooperative process. It is a perfectly natural state.
Will I know what's happening ?
Yes - you are just extremely relaxed. This is why the technique Valerie uses is called 'conscious hypnosis'.
Can everyone be hypnotised ?
Yes - once they have reached a certain level of maturity. The degree of response does vary from person to person, but only the lightest of trance states is needed for success.
Are there any dangers ?
Not in the hands of a good hypnotherapist. The Health and Safety Executive has stated t that hypnosis is safe. Valerie has been using hypnosis to aid therapy for 21 years.
Are there any side effects ?
Yes -sometimes beneficial ones like greater relaxation and better sleeping patterns.
How many sessions will I need ?
Hypnotherapy is so deep reaching that it is usually very quick to reach good results.
Smokers need only ONE visit. Some simple problems like exam nerves and weight loss respond well between one and three sessions.
Phobias can often be dealt with in two or three sessions.
More deep rooted and complex problems require analytical hypnotherapy. This takes between eight and twelve weekly sessions of fifty minutes each session.
